WHILE I DREAM
WRITTEN BY NEIL SEDAKA / HOWARD GREENFIELD

While I dream, while I dream, dreams of you.
While I dream, while I dream, dreams of you.

It doesn't cost a penny, anyone can dream,
So I hug my pillow, silly as it seems.
Through the night
While I dream, while I dream, dreams of you.

Breathless I enfold you, hold you to my heart.
I know when I awake dear, tears are bound to start.
Through the night
While I dream, while I dream, dreams of you.

Though you're not mine tonight, and you'll never be,
Still I'm afraid to face reality.
For the dreams I weave are make-believe
And it's plain to see.

Yet I count my sheep well, sleep well all the time,
Daylight makes us strangers and moonlight makes you mine.
Through the night
While I dream, while I dream, dreams of you.
While I dream, while I dream, dreams of you.
